COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Lubbock Orthodontics, Lubbock Dentures, Zoom Whitening Lubbock, Texas DentistThere’s no reason to hide behind less-than-perfect teeth. After all, a clean, healthy mouth and a beautiful smile are your best assets! Our practice specializes in a wide array of cosmetic dentistry procedures, including bonding, crowns, and veneers, and we aim to give you the dazzling results you want—and deserve. We are devoted to giving you the natural look you desire, whether that requires delicate enhancement or more complex procedures. Here are just a few of the cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer that are designed beautify your smile:

VENEERS
An excellent alternative to crowns, veneers can perfect your smile by masking stains, hiding chips, correcting misalignment, and creating uniformity. Veneers, which are made of thin, customized material designed to slide over the teeth, look incredibly natural, are long lasting, and are relatively easy to apply. Please contact us today to find out more about veneers.

BONDING
A smile can be dulled by stained, chipped, cracked or misaligned teeth, but bonding can quickly and painlessly restore your smile’s natural beauty. During the procedure, a thin coating of plastic or resin is painted over the damaged teeth, strengthening them and making them virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. To find out if bonding is the right option for you, please contact us today.

GUM CONTOURING
Well-proportioned and even gums are key to a beautiful smile. Children’s teeth are naturally covered with gums and with age, the gums recede to expose a naturally beautiful smile. In some people, however, the gums do not recede and a toothy smile remains hidden from view. Through a gum contouring procedure, gums are reshaped to expose the teeth for a bright, uniform smile. To learn more about gum contouring or to set up a consultation, please contact our practice today.

TOOTH WHITENING
Many of us feel that our smiles are most striking when our teeth look especially white, but unfortunately, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and tobacco can leave behind ugly stains. To help you restore your gleaming, bright white smile and to give you an added boost of confidence, we offer many whitening options including the state of the art ZOOM2! treatment with advanced technology that can give you results that last for years. Please contact us today to learn more about our tooth whitening options or to find out which one is best for you.

ZOOM!™
Lubbock Orthodontics, Lubbock Dentures, Zoom Whitening Lubbock, Texas DentistWe specialize in the latest, most effective tooth whitening procedure available—the Zoom!™ in-office whitening system. Safe, fast, and convenient, Zoom!™ uses a combination of formulated lighting and hydrogen peroxide-based bleach to whiten teeth—typically by six to ten shades—in one brief office visit. With simple, regular home touch-ups and careful maintenance, a beautiful Zoom!™ smile can last indefinitely.

Zoom!™ Whitening Gel is carefully applied to the enamel (the tooth's protective coating) and activated by a special Zoom!™ Whitening Lamp. The gel breaks itself down and then releases oxygen into the teeth's dentin (the main, hard part of the tooth) and enamel. The oxygen bleaches away stains without affecting the structure of the teeth. After one hour, the gel is removed, and a five-minute fluoride treatment is administered. The end result is brighter, whiter teeth that are essentially free of coffee, tea, soft drink, wine, or tobacco stains.

Please contact us today to find out if Zoom!™ is right for you.

TECHNOLOGY

CEREC 3D
Restoring damaged teeth with crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays used to require multiple appointments, but not at our office! We make use of an impressive technology known as CEREC 3D to allow your cosmetic dental work to be completed in just one appointment. First, digital impressions are made of your teeth, using a special, highly precise camera. The CEREC 3D machine then uses the digital image to design a custom restoration for you, matching the color precisely with the shade of your natural teeth. The machine then mills the restoration while you wait. Our dentist bonds the new restoration to your tooth, and your dental work is completed— often in under an hour! To learn more about CEREC 3D, please contact us today!

COMPUTER IMAGING
Lubbock Orthodontics, Lubbock Dentures, Zoom Whitening Lubbock, Texas DentistThinking about having cosmetic dentistry but not sure if you're ready for the change? Computer imaging can give you a "sneak preview" of what you may look like after having the procedure of your choice. Using a digital photo, we can show you what your smile may look like with veneers or after tooth whitening. Being able to see a picture of how your results will most likely look can help you select the procedures that are right for you. Computer imaging is an exciting new tool that helps you have appropriate expectations and makes having cosmetic dentistry even more fun. To learn more about computer imaging, please contact us today.

DIAGNOdent®
The DIAGNOdent® is a powerful new laser used for early detection and diagnosis of tooth decay. The DIAGNOdent® also makes it easier to find decay that may be hidden in the cracks and crevices of teeth. Earlier detection means less damage, pain, and hassle for you down the road. Please contact our practice today to learn more about the DIAGNOdent®.

INTRAORAL CAMERA
The intraoral camera is a revolutionary diagnostic dental tool that allows us to more easily identify potential problems within the mouth early on. The tiny intraoral camera can be inserted into a patient's mouth, taking pictures of the teeth and displaying the images on a computer screen. Using the intraoral camera saves time and makes problems easily visible to both patient and doctor. Patients can view the areas we will be working on, making procedures more understandable. The accompanying software also provides clear and accurate data so that the best treatment options can be selected. To learn more about the intraoral camera, please contact our office today.

LASER DENTISTRY
Cosmetic laser dentistry is a cutting-edge way to treat cavities, tooth decay, periodontal problems, and discolored teeth. A special beam of light—or laser—is directed onto the problem areas, correcting decayed teeth, enamel, and gums. Many such lasers have gained Food and Drug Administration Approval (FDA) and are considered safe for both adults and children. To learn more about laser dentistry, please consult our office today.

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

Lubbock Orthodontics, Lubbock Dentures, Zoom Whitening Lubbock, Texas DentistHaving a dazzling, healthy smile can make a positive difference in anyone’s life—it can restore not only one’s youthful appearance, but also the confidence and self-assuredness that come along with it. We offer a full range of restorative dentistry procedures, from missing tooth replacement to endodontics, so no matter what your dental needs, we have a solution. Please contact our office today to schedule a consultation.

BITE APPLIANCES (NTI)
Excessive clenching, grinding, or poor bite alignment can strain your jaw joints or injure your teeth, causing discomfort, and often, severe pain. Dizziness, ear pain, head and neck pain, chewing difficulties, muscle soreness, and even throat pain may surface as the condition worsens. To correct such problems, we offer a variety of fixed and removable bite appliances, including the NTI appliance. When worn, the NTI prevents teeth from touching one another, ultimately relaxing the jaw muscles and alleviating pain. To learn more about bite appliances, please contact our practice today.

BRIDGES
Sometimes a bit more work is needed to give you the smile you want. If you are missing teeth, having trouble speaking or chewing, and noticing strain when biting, bridges may be the ideal procedure to help make your mouth healthy and beautiful again. Bridges, sometimes referred to as fixed partial dentures, literally bridge gaps between teeth by filling them with strong, natural-looking artificial teeth. Bridges can only be removed by a dentist but are somewhat permanent, comfortable, and proven to make teeth strong. To find out if bridges are the right option for you, please contact us today.

CROWNS
Also called caps, crowns are natural-looking covers that fit snugly over teeth to conceal cracked, badly discolored, injured, or chipped teeth. Crowns minimize physical discomfort in and provide support to damaged teeth. Ultimately, crowns can improve the overall appearance of your smile while making your teeth more resistant to injury. For more information about crowns, please contact us today.

FULL DENTURES
Dentures are an excellent option for people who have lost all their teeth. Precisely designed and molded to fit one’s mouth, full dentures slide over the gums and are held in place with strong cheek and mouth muscles. They allow for comfortable chewing and keep the mouth and its surrounding facial features in proper alignment. To learn more about full dentures, please contact us today.

PARTIAL/REMOVABLE DENTURES

Lubbock Orthodontics, Lubbock Dentures, Zoom Whitening Lubbock, Texas DentistPartial or removable dentures fill gaps left by missing teeth. Partial dentures are held in place with metal clasps or precision devices (tooth-colored, discreet clasps) that are attached to natural teeth. Usually made of resin or metal, partial dentures allow more comfortable and effective chewing, improve speech, and prevent sagging of the cheeks and lips. To find out if partial dentures are right for you, please contact our practice today.

EXTRACTION
In only the most extreme and necessary cases—such as when its roots are severely damaged beyond repair—we may extract a tooth in preparation for a restorative dentistry procedure, such as dentures. If you have any questions about tooth extraction, please contact us today.

FIXED PROSTHETICS
Fixed prosthetics are long-lasting, comfortable solutions to more serious dental problems. Fixed bridges, implants, and fixed dentures fall under this category. These fixtures fill in gaps left by missing teeth and allow for easy chewing and extra strength. Usually, more than one office visit is required to ensure that fits are customized and perfect. To learn more about fixed prosthetics, please contact us today.

ORTHODONTICS
Having straight teeth is important for both health and appearance. Not only do we have traditional metal braces, but we also offer newer, subtler varieties. One option is clear braces, which straighten teeth without calling attention to the fact that you have braces. Another option is Invisalign®, a unique new treatment option. Rather than using wires and brackets, Invisalign uses custom-made, removable aligner trays that move teeth into place discreetly and comfortably. The aesthetic aspect is important, because having a smile you love can affect your happiness and self-esteem, whether you are an adult, a teenager, or a child. To learn more about these orthodontic options for you or your child or teen, please contact our office today!

FUNCTIONAL ORTHODONTICS

Lubbock Orthodontics, Lubbock Dentures, Zoom Whitening Lubbock, Texas DentistJaw alignment and development (removable and fixed orthodontic appliances):
We see many children whose upper and lower jaws are improperly positioned or whose top jaws are too narrow, causing a cross bite. To correct such problems, we rely on removable and fixed orthodontic appliances, such as functional appliances and interceptive expansion appliances. Functional appliances correct upper and lower alignment, ultimately correcting the patient’s bite. Conversely, interceptive expansion appliances widen the upper arch, which is naturally supposed to be wider than the bottom arch. To learn more about these treatment options, please contact us today!

ORAL SURGERY
Sometimes oral surgery is the best option to help you achieve a flawless smile. Our oral surgeons have mastered a variety of the most comprehensive surgery techniques, including dental implants, bridgework, and sealing and root planing. To find out which procedure will be the best fit for you, please contact our practice today.

PERIODONTICS
Unfortunately, periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile—it can cause loss of teeth and, eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems. Called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack your mouth’s soft tissues. Early warning signs of the disease include red, swollen, bleeding gums. If caught early, we can help you reverse the damage or, if detected late, we can use one of many effective cosmetic dentistry procedures to restore your mouth to a healthy, beautiful state. For more information, please contact our office today.

ROOT CANALS
Each of our teeth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp—which provides the tooth with nutrients and nerves—that extends down to the tooth’s root. If the pulp becomes infected or injured, the tooth’s nerves die and, often, without endodontic treatment, the tooth dies as well. Root canals are designed to save such damaged teeth. During the procedure (performed under anesthesia), a gap is drilled into the tooth’s crown and pulp chamber, diseased pulp is reshaped or removed, and the tooth is permanently sealed with a gold, porcelain, or tooth-colored crown. To learn more about root canals, please contact us today.

TMJ
Thousands of Americans suffer from myofacial pain (commonly known as TMJ). Myofacial pain therapy seeks to remedy the disorder by restoring balance between the teeth, muscles, and joints. As each patient's case is different, we offer a variety of surgical and non-surgical options. Therapy may involve a special splint, called a neuromuscular orthosis, which is often used to recreate balance or, later on, a semi-permanent splint, comprehensive orthodontics (including braces), or tooth restoration. For more information on myofacial pain therapy, please contact us today.

TAP® Appliance
Sleep apnea or snoring occurs when the airway completely collapses blocking airflow into the lungs. The harder one tries to breathe, the tighter the airway seals. This airway obstruction persists until the brain partially awakens the person. Unconsciously, he/she will close the jaw, returning the tongue and throat to normal position.

There is a new solution to those who snore or have sleep apnea - the TAP®, an oral appliance similar to an athletic mouth guard that is worn while sleeping. Developed with advanced dental technology, the TAP® reduces sleep apnea associated health risks without the need for surgery, medications, or other more cumbersome therapy. Come in and see if you are a candidate for the TAP® appliance!
